step into a morning that seals the world behind

***

Tangled limbs and branches of a skeletal ash tree extend into the top of the frame. A dense fog veils all but the spindly fringe of a denuded foreground hedge and the dark mass of a sloping incline, rising to the right.

Lit by an uncanny light, a dense fog blocks out everything beyond the immediate foreground of a denuded spindly hedge.

Dramatic cloud formation, filling the sky over the Firth of Forth. A large dark rain-sodden cloud drifts low over ink-like water as an eye of sunlight breaks through the Turneresque scene. A patch of blue sky is revealed behind.

Looking South from the top of a farm road leading down into the village of Crossford, Fife. A grey asphalt road, with hedgerows on either side, extends to a vanishing point. A telegraph pole is slightly off the vertical on the left hand side. Sky is a light blue and a small ball of cloud appears to sit above the road.

Tree-lined footpath leading westward out of Dunfermline towards Crossford and Cairneyhill. Cultivated agricultural fields extend on either side. Barley has been cut on the left hand side and the earth has recently been ploughed on the right. Sky is bright blue with traces of horses tail clouds.
