Part of the score for Éliane Radigue's ASYMPTOTE VERSATILE performed for the very first time at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival on 26th November 2023.


One of Radigue's propositions sonores from the early 1960s, it is widely recognised as her oldest surviving composition. This world premiere performance was convened by Rhodri Davies and pulled together many of the OCCAM soloists who have worked closely with Radigue in recent years.

Vintage cast iron sign attached to an external sandstone wall. Against a rust-red background, embossed cream coloured lettering says: SPRINKLER STOP VALVE INSIDE ... A blue wooden panel on the right hand side has been spray painted with black lettering or symbols. (at Bates Mill, Huddersfield).

View from a train window on the East Coast Main Line. A green field of grass is bounded by a low stone wall. Beyond are beach dunes and the white wave tops of an incoming tide spilling on to a long stretch of beach. A layer of blue sea meets sky at the horizon, with lines of cloud layers stacked above.
